This sweet family was so excited to welcome their second daughter, and their oldest couldn’t wait to get her hands on the new baby. As a Senoia newborn photographer, I love not only capturing the precious details of newborns, but when there is an older sibling to include it’s just the absolute best!

This family welcomed their new baby the previous evening at The Atlanta Birth Center. I was then able to meet them at an Airbnb that they had settled into while waiting for their older daughter to come and meet the baby.

Sibling meeting sessions take a bit more planning than regular lifestyle newborn sessions. There is an element of being on-call similar to births, and I take the logistics of making sure I’m available whenever the baby or older sibling arrives home very seriously.

Documenting the moment that your babies meet is so special!

It was so special to document these bonding moments that these new parents got to experience with their new baby before their oldest daughter arrived. They took the time to take in all of the little details such as her beautiful dark hair and sweet little hands.

Whenever I document a sibling meeting session, I never know how the older child will react to meeting the youngest. Will she be shy and quiet, or will she be excited and happy? This big sister certainly was excited and couldn’t wait to hold her new sister. It was absolutely precious to see how much love she had for her baby sister even from the very beginning!
